Hello,
My name is Steven Devers. I am originally from Michigan, I moved to Western Kentucky when I was in elementary school and lived there until we moved to Cape Girardeau two years ago. I have not decided on a major yet, I am working on a general studies degree in the meantime so I can do it all online.
My wife and I have three children, ages eight, three and two. We don't care for the daycare systems, or for paying exorbinant amounts for it, we would homeschool our children if we could. So, she goes to work during the day while I stay home with the kids. We both go to SEMO, my Freshman year, her Junior year. I went back to school last year, but couldn't finish due to kid problems, car problems and everything in between. I decided to go back online only this semester, and figured it would be easier to get class work done if I wasn't required in class. This is a big challenge for us, to keep our household running successfully, while each trying to make the best life for our kids as possible.
I am not sure what I expect to get out of this class yet. I have always liked writing, so I don't think I will be disappointed, I guess I hope to get better at being a writer. If this class is anything like the English class my wife took, I am already somewhat familiar with the coursework, but I hope to get practice writing academic papers.
